JOINT ENTRANCE EXAM (ADVANCED) 2022
The Indian Institutes of Technology are institutions of national importance established through an Act of Parliament. These institutes play a leading role in technological manpower development and have research programmes comparable to the best in the world. The admissions to the Undergraduate Programmes at these institutions for all Indian and Foreign nationals are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
Joint Entrance Exam is conducted by Indian Institute of Technology for admission to undergraduate programmes at Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Bombay, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Guwahati, Himachal Pradesh (new IIT) Hyderabad, Indore (new IIT), Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Patna , Punjab , Rajasthan, Roorkee And Institute of Technology BHU, Varanasi , Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad.
The JEE (Advanced)-2022 will have two objective type papers. Each paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Duration of each paper will be 3-hours. Question papers will be in both English and Hindi. Admissions to IITs will be based only on category wise All India Rank (AIR) in JEE(Advanced) subject to the condition that such candidates are in the top 20 percentile of successful candidates of their Boards in applicable categories.
JEE (Advanced) 2022 Eligibility Criteria:
All the candidates, including foreign nationals, must fulfil each and every one of the following five criteria to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022.
Criterion 1 – Performance in JEE (Main) 2022 : Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2022

*The total number of candidates can be slightly greater than 2,50,000 in the presence of “tied” ranks/scores in any category.
Criterion 2 – Age limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997. Five years relaxation is given to SC, ST and PwD candidates, i.e., these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1992.
Criterion 3 – Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years. Therefore, candidates who appeared in JEE (Advanced) 2020 or earlier, are NOT ELIGIBLE to appear in JEE (Advanced)–2022.
Criterion 4 – Appearance in Class XII (or equivalent) examination: A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2021 or 2022 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects.
However, if the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declares the results for the academic year 2019-20 after June 2020, then the candidates of that board who appeared for their Class XII exam in 2020 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022, provided they meet the other eligibility criteria. In case, the examination Board of Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2019-20 before June 2020 but the result of a particular candidate was withheld, then the candidate will not be eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022.
Criterion 5 – Earlier admission at IITs : A candidate should NOT have been admitted in an IIT (irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program) OR accepted the IIT seat by reporting at a reporting centre in the past. The candidates whose admission at IITs was cancelled are also NOT eligible.
Candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2021 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022. The candidates who have paid seat acceptance fee but not accepted the seat by reporting at the reporting centre during joint seat allocation in 2021 are also eligible.
JEE (Advanced) 2022 Exam Dates and Schedule:
Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2022. After the declaration of the scores of JEE (Main) - 2022, the top 2,50,000 (including all categories) by scoring positive marks in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2022 candidates are required to register online at http://jeeadv.iitd.ac.in to appear for the JEE (Advanced) – 2022.

RESULTS OF JEE (ADVANCED) 2022 :
Results will be declared on Monday, July 18, 2022 (10:00 IST). Category-wise All India Ranks (AIR) of successful candidates will be available through the online portal after the results are declared. Text messages will also be sent to the candidates to their registered mobile numbers.
