SSC Stenographer Grade C and D Examination, 2020 Important Date 

Date for submission of online SSC Steno 2020 applications: 10.10.2020 to 04.11.2020

Last date for receipt of SSC Steno 2020 application: 04.11.2020 

Last date for making online SSC Steno 2020 fee payment: 06.11.2020  

Last date for generation of SSC Steno 2020 offline Challan: 08.11.2020

Last date for payment through Challan (during working hours of Bank): 10.11.2020

Date of SSC Steno 2020 Computer Based Examination: 29.03.2021 to 31.03.2021

The Staff Selection Commission will hold an open competitive Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Stenographer Grade C (Group B, Non-Gazetted) and Stenographer Grade D (Group C) for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India.   

SSC STENO Vacancies:
(a) SSC Steno Vacancies will be determined in due course.
(b) Vacancies of SSC Stenographer Grade C and Stenographers Grade D are in Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of Central Government, including their Attached and Subordinate offices located in various States and Union Territories all over the country.

SSC STENO Eligibility 

Nationality / Citizenship :
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st  January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar,  Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of  Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire,  Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. 

SSC STENO Educational Qualification :  ( As on 01.08.2020)
Must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent or higher examination from a recognized Board or University.

SSC STENO Age Limit : (a) Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years as on 01-08-2020 (i.e. candidates born on or after 02-08-1990  and born before or on 01-08-2002)
(b) Stenographer Grade D : 18-27 years as on 01-08-2020  (i.e. candidates  born on or after 02-08-1993 and born before or on 01-08-2002)  

SSC STENO Mode of Selection:   

All the SSC STENO candidates whose online applications are found to be in order will be called to appear in the SSC STENO Computer Based Examination and Skill Test.
The SSC STENO Skill Test will be of qualifying nature and the Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates.
The candidates will have to appear for the Skill Test in Stenography.

SSC STENO Examination Centres 

A SSC STENO candidate must carefully indicate the centre in the Application Form in respect of the Examination. A candidate must submit his/her application only to the concerned Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission under whose jurisdiction the Centre selected by him / her falls. Application received in any other Regional/Sub Regional Office of the Commission will be rejected summarily. The applications should be addressed to the Regional / Sub-Regional Offices of the Commission as indicated in the table below:-

How to apply SSC STENO Application Form:    

(a) SSC STENO 2020 Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the  official website of SSC Headquarters i.e. https://ssc.nic.in.

(b) Last date for submission of SSC STENO 2020 online applications is 04-11-2020 (5.00 PM).  

In the online application form, SSC STENO candidate will have to indicate the posts for which they are applying i.e. Stenographer Grade C or Stenographer Grade D or the both.  

SSC STENO Application Fee :

RUPEES ONE HUNDRED ONLY (Rs.100) can be paid through SBI Challan / SBI Net banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards of any bank.

Fee is exempted for all Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation, as per Government orders.

SSC STENO Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 06-11-2020 (5.00 PM).
However, candidates who wish to make the payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment at designated branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 10-11-2020 provided the challan has been generated by them before 08-11-2020 (5.00 PM)
