Indian Navy has published a notification for the recruitment of Sailor for Artificer Apprentice (AA) & Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR) – Aug 2022 Batch Course Commencing August 2022 for unmarried Male candidates. Those Candidates who are interested in the vacancy details & completed all eligibility criteria can read the Notification & Apply Online.
Online applications are invited from unmarried male candidates (who fulfill eligibility conditions as laid down by the Government of India) for enrolment as sailors for AA and SSR for 500 & 2000 vacancies (Approximately) respectively in the Aug 2022 batch. The vacancies will be earmarked in a state-wise manner. For the total of 2500 vacancies, approximately 10000 candidates will be called for written examination and Physical Fitness Test (PFT). The cut off marks for appearing in written examination may vary from state to state.

Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR Age :-
The age for Artificer Apprentice & SSR candidate should be between 17-20 years on the day of enrolment.
Candidates should be born between 01 Aug 2002 to 31 Jul 2005 (Both dates inclusive)
Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR Pay & Allowances :- During the initial training period, a stipend of Rs.14,600/- per month will be admissible.
On successful completion of initial training, they will be placed in Level 3 of the Defence Pay Matrix (Rs.21,700- Rs.69,100). In addition, they will be paid MSP Rs.5200/- per month plus DA (as applicable) plus X Group pay {only for Artificer Appren-tice (AA)} Rs.6200/- per month plus DA (as applicable)
Promotion : Promotion prospects exist up to the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer-I, i.e. Level 8 of the Defence Pay Matrix(Rs. 47,600 - Rs. 1,51,100) plus MSP Rs.5200/-per month plus DA(as applicable).
Opportunities for promotion to commissioned officer also exist for those who perform well and qualify the prescribed examinations.

Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR SELECTION CRITERIA :
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, an exception is being made in the public interest wherein approximately 10000 candidates will be called-up for written examination and PFT. The short listing of the candidates for written examination and PFT will be undertaken on the basis of percentage of qualifying examination (10+2 examination). The cut off marks may vary from state to state as vacancies have been allocated in a state-wise manner
ARTIFICER APPRENTICE (AA) - Selection of recruits is based on the all India order of merit on their performance in Computer-based Examination, subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.
SENIOR SECONDARY RECRUIT (SSR) - Selection of recruits is based on State wise merit of their performance in Computer-based Examination, subject to qualifying Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and fitness in Medical Examinations.
One common examination will be conducted for AA and SSR entries.
The Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR question paper will comprise of four sections i.e.
English,
Science,
Mathematics and
General Knowledge.
The standard of the Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR question paper will be that of 10+2 Syllabus & sample papers for the examination are available on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
Results of the Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR online examination : will be announced tentatively after 30 days.
Approximately 10000 candidates will be called for PFT and Preliminary Recruitment Medical Examination.
The qualifying cut off marks for appearing in PFT & Preliminary Recruitment Medical may vary from State to State for SSR entry.
TRAINING AND INITIAL ENGAGEMENT :
The training for the course will commence in Aug 2022, with 09 weeks for AA and 22 weeks for SSR Basic Training at INS Chilka followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in
various Naval Training Establishments. Branch/ Trade will be allocated as per the requirement of Service.

Initial Engagement : The initial engagementis subject to successful completion of training. The initial engage-ment is for a period of 20 years for AA and 15 years for SSR.

The Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR applications are to be filled online only on website www.joinindiannavy.gov.in
between 29 Mar 2022 to 05 Apr 2022.
Indian Navy Sailor AA & SSR EXAMINATION FEE : Candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 215/- (Rupees Twohundred fifteen only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI.
Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances nor can the fee be held
in reserve for any other examination or selection.
There is no reservation of vacancies for the candidates from SC/ST category. Candidates from SC/ST category will only be entitled to waiver of examination fee.
