JEE MAIN Admission criteria to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTI), Institutions funded by participating State Governments and other Institutions shall include the performance in the class 12/equivalent qualifying Examination and in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE(Main). The (B.E./B.Tech.) of JEE (Main) will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programs offered by the Indian Institute of Technology(IITs)
The Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting Joint Entrance Examination (JEE MAIN) to the NTA from 2019 onwards.
National Testing Agency (NTA) JEE Main 2022 will be a fully computer based test (online) to be held in two Session April & May 2022.

The JEE (Main) - 2022 will be conducted in 02 (two) sessions for admissions in the next academic session. The candidates will thus benefit in the following ways:-
1. This will give two opportunities to the candidates to improve their scores in the examination if they are not able to give their best in one attempt.
2. In the first attempt, the students will get a first-hand experience of taking an examination and will know their mistakes which they can improve while attempting for the second time.
3. This will reduce the chances of dropping a year and droppers would not have to waste an entire year.
4. If anyone missed the examination due to reasons beyond control (such as the Board examination), then he/she will not have to wait for one entire year.
5. A candidate need not appear in both Sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one Session then his/her best of the JEE (Main) - 2022 NTA Scores will be considered for preparation of Merit List/ Ranking.

NTA JEE Main is a national level entrance conducted to fill the various seats under all the bachelor level engineering courses, every year. JEE Main score is validated across all the engineering colleges in India.

JEE MAIN 2022 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
JEE MAIN Age Limit : There is no age limit for the candidates.
The candidates who have passed class 12th/equivalent examination in 2020, 2021 or appearing in 2022 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) examination 2022.
Qualifying JEE MAIN Examinations :
Year of Appearance in JEE MAIN Qualifying Examination : Only those candidates who have passed their Class 12th Examination or any equivalent qualifying examination in 2020, 2021 or or those who are appearing in Class 12/equivalent examination in 2022; are eligible to appear in JEE(Main) -2022 Examination.
Candidates who passed Class 12th/Qualifying examination in 2019 or before as well as those who will appear in such examination in 2023 or later are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main)–2022.
Candidates must note that the IITs permit only two attempts for the JEE (Advanced), i.e. a candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2021 or 2022, subject to the condition of not having been admitted at an IIT on earlier occasion.
Admission to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, SFIs, State Engineering Colleges in the Participating States and Other Participating Institutions including UPSEE :
Eligibility for Admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB):
Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class / Qualifying examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12thclass / qualifying examination.
Required Criteria based on Class 12th / Equivalent qualifying Examination B.E/B.Tech : Passed qualifying examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subject.
Eligibility for Admission to Other Institutions:
The above-mentioned policy could also be adopted by other Technical Institutions participating in counselling through JoSAA/CSAB. In case a State opts to admit students in the engineering Colleges affiliated to State Universities, the State may prepare a separate rank list based on criteria decided by them.
For all admission related procedures/queries, the candidates are advised to refer to the website of JoSAA, Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB), or the concerned State Government/Institute after the declaration of result/ranks of JEE (Main) 2022.

Important Note for Multiple Choice Questions: To answer a question, the candidates need to choose one option corresponding to the correct answer or the most appropriate answer. However, if after the process of challenges of the key, more than one option is found to be correct then the multiple correct options will be given four marks (+4). Any incorrect option marked will be given the minus one mark (-1). Unanswered/Marked for Review will be given no marks.
Choice of Medium of JEE MAIN 2022 Question Papers: The medium of Question Paper shall be in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and Gujarati.
The option of question paper language should be exercised while filling up the Application Form and it cannot be changed at a later stage.
Please note that for correctness of the questions in all the question papers, the English version will be taken as final.
Mode of JEE MAIN 2022 Examination:
JEE (Main)-2022 will be conducted in the following modes:
a) B.E. /B. Tech. in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only.
b) B. Arch: Mathematics-Part I and Aptitude Test-Part II in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only and Drawing Test –Part III in Pen & Paper Based (offline) mode to be attempted on drawing sheet of A4 size.
c) B. Planning: Mathematics-Part I, Aptitude Test-Part II and Planning Based Questions-Part III in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode only
JEE Main 2022 Application Form:
Candidates have to apply for JEE (Main) -2022 Online ONLY by accessing the websites.www.nta.ac.in and jeemain.nta.nic.in .
The NTA JEE MAIN Application Form other than online mode would not be accepted, in any case. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.
More than one application i.e. Multiple application forms submitted by a candidate will be rejected.

The entire application process for JEE (Main) 2022 is online, including uploading of scanned images, payment of fees, and printing of Confirmation Page, Admit Card, etc. Therefore, candidates are not required to send/submit any document(s) including Confirmation Page to NTA through Post/Fax/WhatsApp/Email/by Hand.

JEE Main 2022 e-Admit Card :
The e-Admit Card would be issued provisionally to the candidates through the NTA website: jeemain.nta.nic.in, subject to the fulfilment of the eligibility conditions and receipt of prescribed application fee by NTA.
Printing of JEE MAIN 2022 Admit Cards from NTA website : Second week of April 2022 (Session 1) & Third week of May 2022 (Session 2)
JEE Main 2022 admit card will be available for those candidates who have successfully submitted their application form. JEE Main admits card 2022 can be downloaded by entering application number and password. JEE Main 2022 admit card will carry important information like their name, date of birth, paper, gender, city, test centre, state code of eligibility, etc. All candidates must carefully cross-check all the information on the admit card and ensure that the information printed is correct.
Note: If any discrepancy is found, the candidates should contact JEE Main Secretariat immediately to get it resolved.
Without a valid admit card of JEE Main 2022, the candidates will not be allowed to enter the exam centre or take the exam.
Seat Allocation Process and Admission Procedure:
Candidates shall be offered admission based on their choices and All India Ranks of JEE (Main) 2022 through a Seat Allocation Process to be announced later CSAB/ JoSAA.
