Admission to Engineering Courses in Kerala is based on the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala. Engineering rank is prepared by giving equal weightage of 50:50 to the score obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by CEE for Engineering and the marks obtained in the final year of the qualifying examination for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together, after effecting the standardization procedure.
Admission to Pharmacy Course : B.Pharm Rank list will be prepared, on the basis of Index mark calculated from the score obtained in Paper-1 (Physics & Chemistry) of the Engineering Entrance Examination.
KEAM 2022 Exam: Engineering/Pharmacy Entrance Examination is scheduled to be conducted on June 26, 2022.

KEAM Engineering: B.Tech.[including B.Tech. (Agri. Engg.), B.Tech. (Food Engg.) Courses under the Kerala Agricultural University and B.Tech.(Dairy Science & Tech.) under the Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University
Architecture : BArch (No Entrance Examination. Admission is based on NATA Score)
The CEE will conduct Entrance Examination for admission to Engineering Courses only.
The CEE will not conduct any Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course and Medical & Allied courses. However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture (COA).
Candidates seeking admission to any of the Medical & Allied courses should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2022 conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
Admission to the B.Pharm course is regulated on the basis of marks obtained in the Paper-I (Physics & Chemistry) of the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination
KEAM Eligibility :
Nativity:
Applicant should be an Indian citizen. Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders will be treated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.
Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for the KEAM Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as ‘Keralites’. Others will be categorized as ‘Non-Keralites’.
(A) Keralite : A candidate will be considered as a ‘Keralite’, for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if (a) he/she or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR (b) he/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR (c) he/she has undergone his/her school studies from Standards VIII to XII in educational institution(s) in Kerala. The candidate should obtain relevant certificates in the application form as prescribed in the Prospectus to avail such benefit.
Candidates who are children of All India Service (AIS) officers allotted to Kerala cadre, claiming Keralite Status, should produce a certificate from the competent authority showing that the parent of the candidate is an AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre.
(B) Non-Keralites are classified as ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ and ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’.
‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ candidates are those who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are the sons/daughters of Employees of the Government of India, or, employees who are serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to the condition that, all categories of the employees mentioned above should have served in Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years, or, have served in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years. Such candidates will be eligible for admission to the Government seats under ‘State Merit’ only, for all the courses, which are filled on the basis of the rank in the Entrance Examination(s) or the rank list prepared by giving equal weight age to the marks in NATA and qualifying examination, as applicable.
Candidates who do not belong to the ‘Keralite’ or ‘Non-Keralite Category-I’ will be treated as ‘Non-Keralite Category-II’. They are eligible for admission ONLY to the ‘State Merit’ seats in the Private Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing Engineering institutions sponsored by Government. Non-Keralite candidates will not be considered for admission against reserved seats.
KEAM Academic Qualification:
Medical & Allied Courses
(i) For KEAM MBBS, BDS, BSMS: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology / Biotechnology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
(ii) For admission to KEAM BAMS/ BHMS courses: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
(iii) For admission to KEAM B.Sc.(Hons.)Agri., B.Sc.(Hons) Forestry, BFSc courses : Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Biology separately, and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. Biotechnology will not be considered as a subject for academic eligibility.
(iv) For admission to KEAM BVSc. & AH Course : Candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a(iii)) as per regulation 5 of Minimum standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulation, 1993. Relaxation in marks is permissible as stipulated in clause 6.2.4.
(v) Eligibility of KEAM BSc. Degree holders : Candidates who have passed the BSc Degree (Three year course) examination with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biotechnology as Main, and any one or two of the above subjects as Subsidiaries, with 50% marks for Main & Subsidiaries taken together, subject to the condition that they have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects are eligible for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS and BSMS courses.

Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry as one of the optional subjects with atleast 45% marks put together in the above subjects are eligible for admission. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, the marks obtained in Computer Science shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry and Computer Science the marks obtained in Biotechnology shall be considered. In case, the candidate has not studied Chemistry, Computer Science and Biotechnology the marks obtained in Biology shall be considered. The marks as shown in the mark list of the Board of Examination obtained from the respective Higher Secondary Board shall be considered for academic eligibility.
Architecture Course: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics as compulsory subjects or passed 10+3 Diploma examinations with Mathematics as compulsory subject are eligible for Architecture course.
B.Pharm course: Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or Examinations equivalent there to with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects individually are eligible.
Relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examination: For all courses, a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination will be allowed to those candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to Rs. 4.5 lakhs (Rupees Four Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only). SC/ST candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. But candidates belonging to SEBC categories, seeking admission to MBBS/BDS courses, need 45% marks in Biology and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in Medical Entrance Examination. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories need 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in the Entrance Examination for seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Courses. Candidates with Locomotory Disability between 40% and 70% need only 45% marks for Biology and 45% marks for Biology, Physics and Chemistry taken together as academic eligibility for MBBS course. They need only 45% marks in the Entrance Examination to qualify for MBBS course.
Candidates who have appeared/are appearing for Qualifying Examinations: Candidates, who have not passed the qualifying examination but have appeared/are appearing for the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination or the three-year Engineering Diploma Examination of this academic year, will also be permitted to take the Entrance Examination(s) provisionally. But, such candidates should prove their academic eligibility on the date of admission. Candidates applying for Medical courses based on BSc. Degree should have passed the Degree Examination at the time of submission of application.
KEAM Age : The candidate should complete 17 years of age as on 31st December 2022
4. Mode of submitting KEAM Online Application : www.cee.kerala.gov.in
(a) Online submission of application is required to apply for the Entrance Examination for admission to all the courses (Medical, Engineering and Architecture). If a candidate submits more than one application his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled.
(b) All candidates are required to apply online through the website www.cee.kerala.gov.in for the Entrance Examination for admission to Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary, Fisheries, Engineering and Architecture Courses.
(c) KEAM Application Fee : Engineering only / B. Pharm only / both : General candidates - Rs.700/- and SC candidates - Rs. 300/-, ST candidates- NIL
Architecture only / Medical & Allied only / both : General candidates - Rs.500/- and SC candidates - Rs. 200/- , ST candidates- NIL
Both KEAM Engineering only / B. Pharm only / both And Architecture only / Medical & Allied only / both :
General candidates - Rs.900/- and SC candidates- Rs.400/-, ST candidates- NIL
ST candidates are exempted from payment of keam application fee.
Candidate can pay application fee in either of the two following methods:
Mode of Payment of keam Application Fee :
Keam Online Payment : The fee may be paid by credit card/debit card/Internet Banking.
E-chalan: In case of payment through e-chalan, the payment should be made in all Head /Sub Post Offices in Kerala, in cash. The e-chalan generated from the website after online submission of the application should be handed over to the post office and after depositing the fee plus processing charge, as applicable, the counterfoil (Candidate’s copy) of the e-chalan must be collected back from the post office official. It must be ensured that the post office official has recorded the Payment ID pertaining to the payment on the counterfoil and put the office stamp and his/her initials at the designated places on the counterfoil. If the payment was successful, the Payment tab in the candidate’s home page turns green. Candidates are advised to login to the website and examine the ‘Payment’ tab to make sure that the fee status has been updated by the post office official. If the payment tab has not turned green, the candidate should immediately contact the concerned post office and get the payment status updated.
On successful Payment, the required entries in the application will be made automatically.
KEAM Admit Card: The Admit Cards for the Engineering Entrance Examination can be downloaded from the website http://www.cee-kerala.org/ from 10.06.2022 the printout of the admit card thus obtained will have to be produced at the time of examination. Admit Cards will not be sent by post from this office to the candidate.
