COMMON LAW ADMISSION TEST (CLAT)
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the common entrance examination for the National Law Universities of India. It is an offline objective test conducted for admission to law universities, who conduct by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLU). It is a single level test and selection is based on rank-preference criteria of the candidates. Presently following law schools participate in CLAT 2023.
The CLAT 2023 exam opens the gateways to 22 Law Universities in India for law aspirants seeking admissions to various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

CLAT 2023 Eligibility:
CLAT Eligibility for Under-Graduate (UG) Programmes
As regards minimum percentage of marks in the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2), the candidates must have secured:
1. Forty five percent (45%) marks in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and
2. Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) categories.
Candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April, 2023 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2023 examination. However, they shall be required to produce an evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
The result of the qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.

In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:
1. Higher marks in the component /section on legal aptitude in the CLAT-2023 exam;
2. Higher age;
3. Computerised draw of lots.

CLAT Eligibility for Post-graduate (PG) Programme
An LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) of marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in April/May 2023 are also eligible to apply.
No upper age limit is prescribed for appearing in CLAT 2023.

The procedure for filling up the CLAT 2023 Application Form:
The application form for CLAT-2023 shall be filled Online only.
The online enrollment for CLAT 2023 will open on 8th August 2022 and close on 13th November 2022.
The applications has to be submitted ONLINE only from consortiumofnlus.ac.in website.
CLAT 2023 Application Fee / Previous Years Question Papers Fee : Application fees can be paid only online.
1. CLAT Application fee for General/OBC/SAP and other category candidates: Rs.4,000/-
2. CLAT Application fee for SC/ST category candidates: Rs.3,500/-
3. The cost of previous years question papers is Rs.500/- (not included in the CLAT-2022 application fee of Rs.4,000/- or Rs.3,500/- as the case may be.)
4. The candidates themselves will have to bear the bank transaction charges for remitting the fee online
CLAT 2023 Other instructions:
Indian Nationals/NRIs/PIO/OCI seeking admission in either of the UG programmes shall appear in CLAT 2023.
Foreign Nationals need not appear for the test.
For any information relating to the 22 NLUs, the candidate may refer to the e-brochure of the respective Institutions available in the Consortium website.
For NRI/Foreign National seats, the applicants are advised to refer to the e-brochures as well as the websites of the respective NLUs for more details. All NRI Category candidates have to appear for the CLAT 2023 examination for those NLUs where such category is admitted through CLAT 2022 rankings and not admitted directly by the concerned Universities.

CLAT 2023 Admit Card/Hall ticket:
The CLAT Admit Card/Hall ticket can be downloaded by the candidate by logging into his/her account. The exact date on which the CLAT hall tickets will be made available will be intimated on the website.
